Shaft-Hub Connection Analysis

During the period of my internship in Clausthal, I worked on stress analysis on spline shaft-hub connections. These connections are widely used nowadays in mechanical systems and especially for high power transmission. Multiparametric calculations were done in order to figure out the mechanical behavior of the shaft-hub connection and the maximum torque that can be transferred. The software I used was ANSYS Mechanical. I first modified an APDL script that produced the geometry of the connection, and then built several APDL scripts for automatic solving and post processing for better presentation of the results. Finally, I used a MATLAB file that made the whole process automatic by passing the different parameters into ANSYS and then storing the results from numerous calculations.
